After being in theatres for 6 days, Bholaa has crossed the Rs. 50 crores mark at the box office. Released last Thursday, the film currently stands at Rs. 53.58 crores, which is an average of around Rs. 9 crores per day. There are still a couple of days more remaining in this eight day extended week and at least Rs. 7 crores more will come in before the second weekend begins, hence ensuring that the Rs. 60 crores mark is crossed.
On Monday, the film had collected Rs. 4.50 crores and now on Tuesday, there is a bit of an increment with Rs. 4.80 crores coming in (owing to the partial holiday in limited parts of the country owing to Mahaveer Jayanti). Since it’s not a big holiday, the results were always going to be limited and that’s exactly the case here as well. In fact today the film would see a regular drop as well since the partial holiday factor won’t result in any passing on of benefits to the next day.
The Ajay Devgn film is doing decent business and while the merits warrant that it crosses at least Rs. 125 crores mark, the current situation in movie business warrants ‘sailing through’ first which is the need of the hour. As long as theatrical business is respectable and then some profits come in across all mediums, it’s good enough and that’s where Bholaa will find itself as well.
