Synopsis
The plot of GASLIGHT concerns a daughter and her father who has vanished. Sara Ali Khan’s character, Mishri alias Meesha, visits her father, Shataf Ahmed Figar, in their homeland of Gujarat after a long absence. After a catastrophe in the palace and after her father remarried, Meesha, who is unable to walk, had broken off contact with her father. When Meesha arrives back, Rukmani, her stepmother, greets her (Chitrangda Singh). Her father is surprisingly nowhere to be found. He learns from Rukmani and others that he had to go to their factory to quell the agitation of the striking workers. The explanation does not convince Meesha. Her father answers the phone, but it is off. Also, she has strange nighttime events that lead her to assume that her father.
Plot Summery
Princess Misha (Sara Ali Khan) returns home in her long-awaited wheelchair. Her stepmother Rukmini (Chintrangada Singh) greets her. Meesha goes back to the palace as her father Raja Saheb has called her, but her father is not there.
Nobody is aware of Meesha’s father’s location. Even Raja Saheb’s right hand Kapil (Vikrant Massey) knows about his whereabouts. The scene changes as Misha sees her father. However, he was murdered.
Everyone is a suspect when a police officer (Rahul Dev) begins an investigation. Who is the murderer, and why was the victim murdered? Such questions are answered by Film Gaslight.
